George, Betty & Wanda

I was very saddened to hear of Aunt Gertrude's passing yesterday. I thought of her often after a conversation with Pam a few months ago when she shared her health was declining. I have many fond memories of her working at the store with Dad G and those many late night calls during my school years to ask for help with poems, she was gifted in so many ways. She was filled with so many great stories, and I still remember her sharing about how Uncle Sonny helped her learn to drive and how she wasn't afraid to hang a shotgun out the back door and light up the night when unwanted strangers came around......she could take up for herself.

I know she will be greatly missed by her close family and friends, she was a big help to me in my younger years and she was always appreciated and loved.

I am sorry I won't be able to attend the service due to prior commitments, but I will remember the family during the time of the service and pray for God's strength during these times for each of you. Connie will see you all Friday night.
