Roger and I are 1st cousins. I'm Sissy Carter's daughter. I'll try to be there for the funeral; not sure if I can. There are fewer and fewer of us in this generation that are left. I loved Roger and have sweet childhood memories of him. When I was 7 or 8 and Roger was 5 or 6, Aubrey Isaiah was sick and Mom and Daddy and me moved in with them to help take care of the kids so Bea could work. We played in the dirt in the back yard and made roads and cities. We were there for a few months. My mother and Bea were the two oldest Carter sisters. I remember when Roger was in Vietnam and when he came back. That was a hard time for him. He had been shot in the arm, or maybe it was the shoulder. He was sure glad to be back home. Memories just come flooding back. I pray that God will bring you peace and comfort in this difficult time.
