In Loving Memory of Ada Mae Wymer
August 6, 1929 - October 9. 2026
Ada Mae Wymer (nee Vensel), aged 97, entered into her heavenly home, on October 9, 2026. Born on August 6, 1929, in Indiana, Pennsylvania, Ada Mae was the beloved daughter of Minnie and Harry Vensel. She and her husband Charles Wymer grew up together in Creekside, Pennsylvania and were wed on October 14th, 1950. They then moved to Warren, Ohio where they shared 63 happy years together.
Ada Mae loved the Lord and lived a life that reflected her faith in Jesus Christ. She was a beloved Bible Club teacher at Morgandale Fire Station in Howland, dependably served in each church throughout her life, having been a Deaconess and Sunday School teacher at Calvary Presbyterian and North Mar churches in Warren, Ohio where she was also very active in their missionary groups. She cherished the opportunities to be involved in the Ladies' Bible Study and prayer groups at Delaware Grace in Delaware, Ohio and at CrossRoads Church in Westmoreland, Tennessee. She will be remembered as a faithful prayer warrior with a servant's heart who shared her knowledge of the Bible and love of her Lord with those around her. Though Ada Mae will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, we take comfort in the promises of God's Word and the assurance of eternal life through Christ Jesus. As Scripture reminds us in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14, "... you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him."
Furthermore, Ada Mae will be remembered for her warm heart, her thoughtful care for others, and the simple joys that made her so special. She delighted in feeding the birds and deer (squirrels too), and watching them gather, finding pleasure in the quiet beauty of God's creation. Her summer evenings were made sweeter with ice cream cones on the porch, especially when they were shared with her grandchildren, a little tradition that made ordinary moments feel special. She lovingly prepared peanut butter fudge and other homemade desserts for her family, always finding ways to show her love through something sweet. She was an avid reader with a talent for gardening, embroidery, and sewing.
At 97, Ada Mae eagerly anticipated being reunited with her many beloved family members. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles William Wymer, parents, Minnie and Harry Vensel, brothers, Perry and Ralph Vensel, sisters Dorothy Zellefrow and Thelma Rhine, great-grandson Cameron Ross Howat m, in addition to other dear extended family. Her memory will live on through her loving children, Bill and Mary Wymer, Connie and Cameron Howat, and Janice and Fred Durant. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Tammy (Slade) Harvin, Julie (Josh) Woodall, Paris (Eric) Strayer, Ross (Angela) Howat, Scotia (Kim) Howat, Geneva (Michael) Russin, Vienna (Jeremiah) Russin, and Alaina Durant, and great-grandchildren Evie and Laura Harvin, Kaitlyn Woodall, Savannah and Roman Strayer, Lydia, Isaiah, Jonah, and Ezra Howat, and Ada, Eloise, and Magdalene Russin.
A celebration of life will be held at CrossRoads Church in Westmoreland, Tennessee on October 25th, 2026 at 2pm. A second service will be held on November 8th, 2026 at North Mar Church in Warren, Ohio, where visitation will begin at 2pm with the service at 3pm. In lieu of flowers, the family invites those wishing to honor her memory to consider a donation to a church she attended during her life or to a charitable organization that honors her legacy. We rejoice in the knowledge that death is not the end but the beginning of eternal life in the presence of our Savior. Until we meet again, Ada Mae will be lovingly remembered and forever missed.
