Carlton Ray Zapp

Mr. Carlton Zapp, age 75 of Portland, TN, passed away Monday, October 17, 2011 at Sumner Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, Oct. 21st at 3:30PM from the Chapel of Woodard Funeral Home with Bro. Roy Shockley officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Family will receive visitors on Wed. Oct. 19th from 3PM-9PM, Thurs. Oct. 20th from 10AM-9PM and Fri. Oct. 21st from 10AM-service time.

Mr. Zapp was a retired steel worker and truck driver.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Mary Louise Sawyer Zapp; his brothers, Michael Kirby Zapp and James Russell Jr. Zapp; and his step-grandson, Michael Nesbitt.

He is survived by his wife, Betty L. Smith Zapp of Portland; his step-son, Jerry Bruce Adams of Florida; his sister, Katherine Marie Torence of California; his sister-in-laws, Estelle & (Clay) Moore of Nashville, Mildred Brown of Springfield, Alice Vasques of Portland, Clayla Bain of Lafayette and Diane Pillows of Bethpage; his brother-in-law, Harlie Smith of Bethpage; his nephews, Michael Zapp of Georgia, Daniel Lavine of St. Thomas, David and Johnny Smith both of Bethpage; and a host of other nieces and nephews.
