Christopher John Murphy

Mr. Christopher "Chris" John Murphy, age 57, of Lafayette, TN, passed away on August 2, 2022. He was born December 9, 1964 to Charles Lloyd Joseph and Elizabeth Ann Sherwood Murphy in Mt. Kisco, NY.

Mr. Murphy worked for Tennessee Cabinetry in Lafayette, TN.

Mr. Murphy was preceded in death by his father, Charles Lloyd Joseph Murphy; his paternal grandfather, Charles Hassel Murphy; his paternal grandmother, Anna Mable Sercerchi; his maternal grandfather, John Hammond Bradford Sherwood; and his maternal grandmother, Helen Brauer.

He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth S. Murphy; his step-father, Larry O'Neil; his brother, Charles Thomas Murphy; his sisters, Julia Ann (Alan) Murphy Cerinetti; his nieces, Amanda Murphy Byrn, Jaime Murphy Cuomo and Caroline Jean Murphy; his nephews, Charles Joseph Murphy, Thomas Lee Murphy and Brock Christopher Murphy; as well as numerous other family.


Woodard Funeral Home is collaborating with Larkspur Conservation at Taylor Hollow, to prepare a natural burial for Mr. Chris Murphy.

Chris will be laid to rest at 10:00 A.M., on Wednesday, August 10, 2022.
Those attending his graveside service at Larkspur Conservation, at Taylor Hollow, will initially meet at his burial site. Larkspur Conservation at Taylor Hollow, is located 155 Bear Carr road, Westmoreland, Tennessee, 37186. Typical funeral dress attire will be inappropriate; instead, it is suggested to dress casually, like for a picnic or hiking boots. Following Chris Murphy's burial, the will be a death mass, conducted at 12:30 P.M., at the Holy Family Catholic Church, with Father Samuel Mungai officiating. Holy Family Catholic Church is located 431 Old Highway 52, Lafayette, TN, 37083.

There are no services scheduled to take place at Woodard Funeral Home.
