Donald Ray Graves

Much-loved father, grandfather, son and brother, Donald Ray Graves, 65, of Lafayette, TN was born in Sumner County on March 16, 1948 and passed away peacefully February 24, 2014 at Sumner Regional Medical Center with family present. Visitation with family will be held Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at Woodard Funeral Home in Westmoreland, TN beginning at 10am with a memorial service that evening at 6pm.

Donald, known as "Pa" by his grandchildren, was a friend to many, he was generous with his time to help a friend or neighbor. He loved building and construction and worked as a general contractor for the past 25 years. He was trained as a barber and had his own shop in Westmoreland for many years which was well-known for great hair cuts and lively conversations.

He enjoyed golfing, riding his motorcycle, chatting with his friends, playing billiards, restoring old cars, swimming, boating, water skiing, and most any outdoor activity. In recent years, his happiest moments were the countless hours he spent with his three daughters and two grandchildren.

Donald is survived by Paula (Perry) Fletcher of Nashville, TN and Valerie Allen of Gallatin, TN, daughters of Rita (Mark) Lauderdale of Gallatin, TN; Rachel (Steven) Acuff of Russellville,TN, daughter, of Phyllis Graves of Westmoreland, TN; brother, Richard Williams of Westmoreland, TN; and fiancé, Glenda Etheridge of Lafayette, TN; and his grandchildren, Cole and Quinn Allen both of Gallatin.

Donald is preceded in death by his parents, William Earl Graves and Pauline Williams Graves, sister Shirley Faulton, and brother David Graves.

Donald will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by his family and friends.
