Dycus Dan Bennett

Dycus Dan Bennett, age 88, of Westmoreland, TN passed away on July 10, 2026. He was born in Peytonsville, TN to the late Dyke and Gracie “Garner” Bennett.

Dan was retired from the Sumner County Highway Department where he had worked as a truck driver. He loved spending time with family and friends, and especially loved time on the road riding his Indian motorcycle.

Dan is survived by his loving daughters, Jennifer Lampley (Barry Pendergrass) of Thompson Station, Leah Sanders (Shane) of Westmoreland; one son, Michael Bennett (Michele) of Nashville, grandchildren, Joel Bennett (Dakota), Susan Bennett, Austin Sanders (Jordan), McKinley Lampley, Ryan Lampley, and Carly Sanders, great -grandchildren, Eleanor and Charlotte Sanders, and Nora Bennett, and one brother, William Taylor Bennett.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Burchard Bennett and his son, Dycus Dan Bennett Jr.

There are no services to be announced, but the will family hold a private service in Dan’s memory at a later date.

The family has entrusted Woodard Funeral Home with the care of their loved one.
