Everett Cordell Borders Jr.

Mr. Everett Cordell Borders, Jr. age 66 of Westmoreland, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at Sumner Regional Medical Center. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, May 13th, 2011 from the chapel of Woodard Funeral Home with Bro. Lionel Borders, Bro. Leon Graves and Bro. Larry "Bubba" Meadors officiating. Interment will follow in New Hope Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Garrett Brooks, Jordan Brooks, Cole Borders, Simon Freeman, Eric Radley, Devin Gregory, Shannon Freeman and Zack Fennell. Honorary pallbearers will be Eli Borders, Levi Borders, Gabe Borders, Zack Borders and Braden Spears. The family will receive visitors on Wed. May 11th from 2PM-9PM, Thurs. May 12th from 10AM-9PM and Fri. May 13th from 9AM-service time.

Mr. Borders was a member of New Hope Church. He was retired from Bellsouth Mobility after 35 years as an Operations Engineer.

Mr. Borders was born on September 8, 1944 in Sumner County, TN. He was married to Carol Cannon Borders, and to this union were born six beloved children, Jana, Lionel, Lucy, Spencer, Adam and Mandy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett Cordell Sr. and Wilma Pearson Borders; and his grandchildren, Ben Borders and Shandy Freeman.

He is survived by his loving wife, Carol Borders of Westmoreland; his children, Jana & (Ricky) Smith of Gallatin, Lionel & (Necia) Borders of Westmoreland, LaDonna "Lucy" & (David) Brooks of Bethpage, Spencer & (Kim) Borders of Scottsville, KY, Adam & (Angel) Borders of Westmoreland and Amanda "Mandy" Freeman of Gallatin; his grandchildren, Morgan Radley, Whitney & Rachel Smith, Sarah Gregory, Hannah, Eli, Levi, Gabe, and Zack Borders, Lauren, Garrett, and Jordan Brooks, Taylor, Savannah, Hadley and Cole Borders, Braden Spears, Ava Borders, Sydney, Simon and Sophia Freeman; his great-grandchildren, Kamryn Radley, Chloe Gregory, and Cooper Bradley Fennell; and his sisters, JoAnn & (Kenneth) Graves of Gallatin and Lorretta & (Don) Brown of Bethpage.
