Gwen Flowers

Mrs. Gwen Flowers, age 82, of Gallatin, TN, passed away on Monday, August 14th, 2023.  She was born May 8, 1941 in Cookeville, TN to the late Edward E. and Bessie Countess Pate. 

Mrs. Flowers was a teacher assistant at Harding Academy in Memphis for 11 years.  She was a member of the Portland and Westmoreland Church of Christ.  She was married to the late Charles L. Flowers on August 4, 1963 until his passing February 17, 2012.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.

She is survived by her daughters, Margie Bargy, with her husband, Joe and Amy Flowers; her grandchildren, Jackson Martin III,  Ashlie Martin (Paden Lapwing), Hannah Howell  and Gabrielle Howell; her great-grandchildren, Jackson Martin IV, Tegan Lapwing and Wyatt Howell; sisters, Belle Shirley, Wanda Flowers and Margie Brown (Charlie); brother, Foy Pate; with a host of loving family.

A Celebration of Life service will be on Tuesday, August 22 at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Woodard Funeral Home with Doyle Farris officiating. Visitation with the family will be on Monday, August 21 from 1:00 - 8:00 PM and on Tuesday from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM service time.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Special Needs Sports Foundation. These can be made by calling or coming by the office of Woodard Funeral Home.
