Harold G. Gregory

Harold G. Gregory, age 75, of Knoxville, TN passed away on February 11, 2014. The Lord called another angel home and Harold went to be with our Lord after suffering a massive stroke. He was known to all as a strong, loving husband and father. He’s been a member of Central View Baptist Church since May 2013. As a child of God, he lived his life for the Lord and his family. His sense of humor and smile will be missed terribly by all who love him. He’s been a rock for so many people through some of the hardest times and his strength has helped to pull us through. As an amazing father of 5 and stand in father to many, his absence will leave a void in our lives and hearts. This is not goodbye but simply “till we meet again.”

He was preceded in death by his parents, Archie and Nellie Gregory; his brother, J.R.; his sisters, Virginia and Shelby Jean; his son, Darrell; and his son in law, Rick Horne.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Betty of Knoxville; his children, Ronnie, Teresa, Ricky Gregory and Lesia Horne all of Knoxville; his sister, Jo Helen Kendall of Westmoreland; his brothers, James Ray & (Charlotte) Gregory of Bethpage and Jerry Lee Gregory of Lafayette; and also surviving are several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, Feb. 14th at 2PM from Woodard Funeral Home in Westmoreland, Sumner Co, TN. with Rev. Jimmy Maples and Rev. Donald Wadley officiating. Interment will follow in Eulia Cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Thursday, Feb. 13th from 12noon – 9PM and again on Friday, Feb. 14th from 10AM – Service time.

Pallbearers will be: Cory Gregory, Shayne Horne, Jason Gregory, Glen Butler, David Hardy, John Cadarian, Terry Matthews and Don Wadley. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Ronnie Gregory, Timmy, Jimmy and Gary Gregory, Kevin Kendall and Jeff Cadarian.
