Lavelle Black

Lavelle Garrett Black, age 85, of Westmoreland, passed away on December 23, 2020.  She was a member of Providence General Baptist Church and had retired from the Sumner County School system where she had worked in North Sumner School as a Teacher's Aide and inspired countless children. She was affectionally know by many as "Granny".  She is survived by sons and wives, Barry & Marcia Black, Tony & Rachel Black and Kerry & Lesia Black; daughter and husband, Joy and Tim Williams; numerous grandchildren and  great-grandchildren; and sisters, Janet White and Darlene Boze. Mrs. Lavelle is preceded in death by her parents,  Elmer and Ila Garrett; husband of 64 years, Ernest Black; and grand-daughter, Brittany Black. The Graveside Service for Mrs. Lavelle Garrett Black will be held on Sunday, December 27, at 2:00 at Fairfield Cemetery with Bro. Tim Williams officiating. Interment to follow.
