Tandy "W.T." Spears

Bro. Tandy "W.T." William Spears, age 85, of Bethpage, TN, went to his Heavenly home on December 28, 2022 surrounded by his family.  He was born December 17, 1937 to the late Tandy Edgar and Maddie Lucille Anderson Spears.

Bro. W.T. Spears was married to the late Theda Baskerville Spears for 63 years.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Rachel Abel; his sister, Elizabeth Troutt Sadler; and his brothers, Walter "Buck" Spears, Paul "Buddy" Spears, Donald Spears, Hugh Allen Spears and Michael Spears.

Bro. Spears was saved on a Sunday afternoon on the dusty Rogues Fork Road.  His membership was at Maple Grove #3 Missionary Baptist Church.  He was called to preach in 1973 and pastored several missionary baptist churches in and around Sumner County.  His love was for his family, his church family, and Maple Grove #3 Missionary Baptist Church.  He found his joy spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and studying the Bible.  He will be greatly missed by his daughters, family and friends of the Community.

He was survived by his daughters, Glenda (Bobby) Abel, Melisa (Randy) Graves, Freda (Edwin) Robertson and Vicky Spears; his grandchildren, Robby Abel, Chastidy (Keith) Simpson, and Joey (Raina) Graves; his great-grandchildren, Virginia and Elaine Abel, Landon, Skyler, and Seanna Simpson, Gabriel, Lucas and Miranda Graves; his brothers, Charles (Sherry) Spears and Frankie (Phyllis) Spears; and his sister, Barbara Faye (Mike) Harmon.

Funeral services for Bro. Spears will be conducted on Saturday, December 31st, 2022 at 11AM from the chapel of Woodard Funeral Home, with Bro. Dusty Bradley and Bro. Dewayne Hall officiating.  Interment will follow in the Bradley Cemetery.  The family will receive visitors on Thursday, December 29th from 5PM - 8PM, Friday, December 30th from 9AM-8PM and again on Saturday, December 31st from 9AM-service time at 11AM at Woodard Funeral Home.
